Christopher Joseph “CJ” Books sadly left this life Friday, September 18, 2020 at the age of 36 following a battle with heart failure. He was born at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska February 10, 1984. He grew up in Fountain, Colorado where he was a well-liked student and talented musician, teaching himself clarinet, saxophone and alto sax and could play piano by ear. His favorite teenage pastime was watching WWF (now WWE) and wrestling with his friends. He moved to southern California in 2003. CJ was a loving husband, son, brother, grandson, uncle, and friend who left a lasting impression on everyone he met. As a career he enjoyed 9 years in mall maintenance. He married Diane Marie Canossi in April 2009 and together they adopted two wonderful rescue pit bull mixes, PJ and Kayla. CJ loved to ride motorcycles and was most proud of his 1970 Chevrolet Impala. He especially liked watching Supernatural and was a collector of that and Batman merchandise. One of CJ's favorite family activities was attending NASCAR races. He is survived by his wife Diane Books, mother Pamela Matthews, stepfather Dennis Matthews, father Joseph Books, sister Heidi Books (Raymond Coppa), stepmother Kathryn Books, grandparents Robert and Ruth Benson, uncle Robert Benson (Karen), half-sister Katelin Books, nieces Destiny and Haley, and several stepbrothers, stepsisters, and stepcousins.
